List of products by brand Cascajares
The story of Cascajares begins with Alfonso Jiménez Rodríguez-Vila and Francisco Iglesias, two 19-year-old entrepreneurs who founded a company specializing in agri-food products. With just 160,000 pesetas, they launched their first product: a whole canned capon. Their innovative approach led to the revival of traditional delicacies like cock crests in duck fat, now served in top restaurants worldwide.
In 1998, Alfonso Jiménez was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year in Valladolid, facilitating Cascajares' move to a new factory in Palencia. Committed to social responsibility, they employed workers with disabilities, raising significant funds through charity auctions. In 2004, Cascajares gained international recognition when their capon was served at the royal wedding of the Princes of Asturias.
Rapid growth led to a new plant in Dueñas, recognized for quality and innovation. In 2009, Cascajares expanded to Canada, opening a factory in Quebec in 2011. The company received numerous accolades, including Best SME of the Year in 2011 and a National Marketing Award in 2013. In 2014, Alfonso Jiménez became president of Empresa Familiar de Castilla y León, advocating for family businesses.
